I love to work with clients on communication skills, conflict resolution techniques and ways to validate self as well as to hear others and express ourselves in a healthy manner.

Trauma is something that I usually see with most people. Trauma can be defined as many thing that has an adverse effect on how we think of a situation, person, reaction or event. Many traumas happen without our ability to even realize it. I take pride in making sure that we address traumas and the impacts that these experiences can have on our way of reacting to people and situations.

Anxiety is one of the major reasons why people seek out therapy and to gain coping skills to manage it. We want to know what is driving the behavior and how to use anxiety in a way that serves us and learning ways that it doesn’t not serve us and how to navigate the difference. I think anxiety is truly on a spectrum and is also manifested cognitively and behaviorally in different ways for different people.

EFT focuses on the emotion behind the content or context of the matter. Sometimes how we really FEEL about something gets misunderstood or misconstrued with what is really going on. EFT focuses on getting underneath the surface level of an issue or reaction and focuses on the true emotion going on deeper.

We all have a foundation of attachment. The way we attach to those in our adulthood has a lot to do with the secure/avoidant/anxious/ambivalent type of attachment that we felt from our first years on the earth. Attachment is a learned behavior with many different types of contributing factors. These factors are all worth exploring to teach us more about ourselves.

CBT is one of the best tools for working with clients. We focus on how our thoughts truly affect how our beliefs which impact the behaviors that we carry out. Sometimes it feels that the feelings are activated first because we feel feelings so intensely but it always starts with the thought. With this modality we are able to identify those thoughts and challenge ourselves to shift those perceptions to produce different feelings about the same situation and therefore different behaviors follow.
