About My Clients
Are you challenged by issues that are impacting your every day life in a negative way? Have you experienced past or current problems with anxiety, abuse, self-harm, addictions, or women's issues? With my past experience, I am well-versed at meeting you where you are and helping to explore how an issue is currently challenging you so that you feel stuck. I also had a previous career as a health professional in the medical field, and have a good understanding of disease process.
My Background and Approach
My approach is eclectic, as each client is an individual with their own needs. However, I use Cognitive Behavioral, DBT, EFT, family systems, trauma-focused, mindfulness-based, and somatic therapy tools primarily. My specialties are in trauma work, especially sexual and inter-personal based trauma; addictions, grief and loss, and self-injury. I am also seasoned and well-practiced in anxiety and depression, including post-partum depression, and grief related to miscarriage and infertility.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an LGBTQ+ ally, and an advocate for anti-trafficking of persons. I am vocal and advocate against trafficking in the pornography industry. I am also an animal rescue advocate, and currently have several rescued pets. I believe everyone should have access to counseling, and I am all-inclusive, preferring to bring people in versus screening out because of life choices or other reasons.
