Using body-centered tools such as yoga, vagal deep breathing, and grounding to assist in retraining neural pathways. This helps to relieve oneself of feeling stuck in fight or flight or frozen state, and goes hand in hand with trauma work.

I draw from multiple types of therapy, such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness-based, and trauma-focused, and use somatic therapy techniques, but I approach each client as an individual, tailoring what I use to their specific issues.

I have spent the past 15 years or more treating clients with co-morbid addiction in outpatient individual, residential, and intensive outpatient environments.

I have spent the past two decades counseling clients with abuse issues, especially interpersonal relationship violence and sexual violence. This includes adult survivors of childhood physical, sexual, mental and emotional abuse. I have spent ten years of that time working for a domestic and sexual violence shelter agency as the Counseling Coordinator and Rape Response Coordinator.

I am a seasoned therapist with years of experience providing counseling for other healthcare professionals, such as counselors, and first responders. Often, they present to counseling with vicarious dramatization, and may be challenged with substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, or suicidal ideation. I provide a safe, non-judgemental, environment in which to process and receive support using trauma-informed skills. I am also located in a discreet space enhancing confidentiality.

I have worked with clients who have substance use disorders for the past 20 years, whether in an individual outpatient setting, residential facility, or intensive outpatient group. This has included working with patients coming out of a health professionals treatment program. I have provided individual counseling for patients receiving medication-assisted treatment through a local treatment agency.
