About My Clients

Are you looking for peace? From your past, from you current life situations, from your own mind? Are you trying to make sense of things in life that don’t make sense? I work with individual adults and couples who are stuck in negative thought or behavior patterns, or who are just experiencing dissatisfaction with their lives.

My Background and Approach

I have many years of experience working in both community mental health and in private practice. Working in a chemical dependency treatment environment has given me significant experience to assist those struggling with addiction issues in themselves or others. My experiences practicing in a military community has provided me with knowledge about the unique difficulties faced by military members and their families. I have completed specialized training in EMDR for the treatment of trauma and negative thoughts, ERP for the treatment of OCD and in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have been involved throughout my life in women’s health, human rights, immigrant rights and animal welfare organizations. I was deeply unsettled by the changes in the US around the 2016 election, and like many others I became increasingly involved with social justice groups and political activism, which was both empowering and discouraging. I am currently living as an expat in Costa Rica.
