About My Clients
I enjoy working with clients who are experiencing grief, processing trauma, or going through life transitions (new jobs, homes, relationships, breakups, divorce, moving to a new city, etc.) I specialize in relationship trauma and helping people establish healthier relationship patterns. Sometimes even positive changes can hold grief. Together we can dig deeper to develop insight and reduce guilt and self-blame.
My Background and Approach
I believe that everyone has inherent strength and value, and I work collaboratively with each client to find the best approach for their unique needs. I take a holistic approach to therapy, considering each person’s identities, cultural context, and societal influences. I integrate tools from narrative and existential therapies and internal family systems to help clients deepen their self-awareness. I am a 200-hour trained yoga teacher and can implement somatic practices to strengthen the mind-body connection. Prior to becoming a therapist I was a case manager for Veterans and people experiencing homelessness for five years. I have worked with survivors fleeing domestic violence, and I volunteered as a victim advocate for one year, helping people process trauma and grief immediately after it happened. I have also volunteered at Experience Camps, a camp for adolescents who have experienced the death of a sibling or primary caregiver. These experiences inform my approach to therapy.
