About My Clients

I enjoy working with people who want to bring the wisdom of the body into their therapeutic work. You might want to learn how to attend to painful emotions without being overwhelmed. You might want to be kinder to yourself and reconnect to your intuition. Maybe you have a meditation or yoga practice, or you want to start one! You might be a creative who enjoys experiential work and channeling your imagination into your healing.

My Background and Approach

I’m a counselor and a yoga teacher (RYT-200) with training in Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY). I have practiced yoga and meditation for 15+ years. I find it helpful to integrate these practices into counseling to keep you grounded as you contact big emotions and teach you how to relate to yourself with curiosity and compassion. That means we might start sessions with conscious breathing or experiment with mindfulness or movement to cultivate a felt-sense of loving-kindness, containment, grounding, and other internal resources. There’s always an element of exploratory conversation. I tend to listen for the deeper needs connected to your emotions, the beliefs you hold about yourself and the world around you, and the influence of various systems and identities on your life. I’ll often invite you to notice physical sensation as you share your inner experience.

I have experience with the following
  • Buddhism
  • Interfaith
