About My Clients
If you've been feeling alone, unseen, frustrated, exhausted, or are just plain ready for some change, please reach out! I look forward to the opportunity to discuss your concerns, goals, and values and to learn more about the communities and identities that are important to you. Whether you have never sought mental wellness support or have received services in the past, I am confident we can get you closer to the wellness you deserve!
My Background and Approach
EVERY one of us experiences some sort of imbalance, frustration, confusion, loss, and/or dissatisfaction with certain areas of our lives–and therapy is a great place to explore those areas for improvement. Some of my clients simply want a space to express themselves, connect with another human, or explore challenges in their lives from different angles. Others may be going through changes or difficult circumstances and want a space to receive support and encouragement. I also work with folks experiencing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, and other mental health conditions who are looking for relief from their symptoms. My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, active listening, and evidence-based techniques tailored to your unique needs and goals. I have experience with the DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) approach, and draw from other models as well. I also look forward to learning about and integrating practices that feel meaningful to you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have professional experience with the following groups: veterinary medicine, hospitalized behavioral health/psychiatric patients, and people with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) & disabilities. I have also had some experience working with actively incarcerated women and people with substance abuse/misuse challenges. Outside of work I have lots of experience working with people of many other identities/groups as well! On a personal note, I simultaneously feel strengthened by & struggle with my own mental health conditions. I can say with absolute certainty that I understand just how isolating and difficult it can be to find support, relief, connection, and a path forward amidst symptoms. ESPECIALLY with limited resources, and when some of the communities you belong to frequently dismiss, invalidate, deprioritize, or stigmatize mental health challenges! But things CAN improve. There ARE providers out here who want to see, hear, & understand you. Reach out to one of us!
