About My Clients
I work with teens and adults, and I treat anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, attachment/relationship issues, grief, and issues related to life transitions. My clients are typically functioning pretty well (can go to school/work, etc.), but need help seeing things from a outsider's perspective, and want skills to feel less stressed, anxious, or depressed.
My Background and Approach
I practice a modern approach to therapy. Which means I do not act like a "blank slate" in our sessions. I use humor (when appropriate) and a gentle directness to make sure you get what you are looking for out of therapy. I do not see therapy as one-size-fits-all, which means I will get to know you, doing a full assessment, before I start giving you skills. I draw from evidenced-based modalities, because we know they work. And I also know that you don't want to go to therapy where it feels like you might be wasting your precious time and money.
