Multiple staff members of the Crosby Counseling Center are members of the LGBTQIA+ community or are LGBTQIA+ friendly. We are advocates and have stayed current in regards to updates and research impacting LGBTQIA+ individuals and the community.

At the Crosby Counseling Center we use the latest empirically validated treatment techniques recommended for each anxiety disorder including Exposure and Response Prevention, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

From the founder and president of the Postpartum Society of Florida to specialists in feminist psychology we cover all the bases when it comes to comprehensively treating women. Some of the more common difficulties facing women: perinatal/postpartum mood and anxiety disorders; perimenopause/menopause issues, and other physiological issues; issues of social justice and self-esteem; interpersonal difficulties; mood and anxiety disorders; and personality disorders more commonly diagnosed in women.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that treats problems and boosts happiness by modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviors, and thoughts. CBT focuses on solutions, encouraging patients to challenge distorted cognitions and change destructive patterns of behavior. CBT rests on the idea that thoughts and perceptions influence behavior. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps you accept the difficulties that come with life. ACT has been around for a long time, but seems to be gaining media attention lately. Existential therapy focuses on free will, self-determination, and the search for meaning, often centering on you rather than on the symptom. The approach emphasizes your capacity to make rational choices and to develop to your maximum potential. It stresses that: all people have the capacity for self-awareness, each person has a unique identity that can be known only through relationships with others, people must continually re-create themselves because life’s meaning constantly changes.
