About My Clients

Adolescents can be a tough time for all parties caring for, supporting or going through adolescence. Navigating the day to day for youth and their families can become tricky and wanting to be successful is our main goal. Being the person you want to become and defining success for yourself allows for greater self-esteem and an overall greater outlook on life. By understanding your unique qualities we can build on your strengths to overcome challenges to become your desired self.

My Background and Approach

I work from a strengths based perspective, self-esteem based, view all interactions as forms of communication and that we as people want to be our best selves. Since each person is unique, I value getting to know what success means to you and explore how we can get there. I incorporate your life experiences, cultural background, faith, and other aspect of yourself that are unique to you. During our work together we will explore where you are currently at, the patterns that arise form the past, and how to build on your current strengths in order to transform. I support people in speaking for themselves, identifying desired changes and utilized current strengths to become your authentic self. By highlighting strengths to improve identified challenges, we can work towards you becoming the ultimate person you desire.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe every person is unique with skills and challenges that make them who they are. Most people want to be their authentic self, however struggle to embark on the journey in discovering who they can become. I believe incorporating culture into my work, and continue to explore and learn from cultures other than my own in order to provide the best quality services to my clients. I am a woman of color, who identifies as (Mixed; Black and El Salvadorian), and am a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community. I value meeting people where they are at in their journey and helping them grow to the person they want to become. Through navigating my own mental health challenges from childhood to present day, I understand therapy is a journey. As the therapist, I believe you are the expert of your life and I am here to walk along side you in your journey. Therapists are like a good pair of shoes, sometimes you have to try a few on to see if they fit. You have started that journey, lets see if we fit.
