About My Clients
I specialize in treating depression, eating disorders, and anxiety. As a therapist, I am dedicated to providing effective treatment to every patient. To do that, my therapeutic approach is driven by leading scientific evidence and personalized to the individual strengths, challenges, needs, and goals of each of my patients. I view effective therapy as a highly collaborative process and value building strong supportive therapeutic relationships with each of my patients.
My Background and Approach
I have over 15 years of clinical, research, and teaching experience and, aside from my clinical practice, I am also a professor in psychology. In my practice, I use leading evidence-based psychotherapies, which are treatments that are backed by decades of scientific research and shown to work. These are highly collaborative, active, and goal-oriented treatments that help people quickly achieve desired symptom changes and build more fulfilling lives. Here's a bit on my qualifications: I received my BA from the University of Pennsylvania and PhD from Florida State University. After finishing my clinical residency at Brown, I completed post-doctoral fellowships at Harvard and Vanderbilt. I’ve been named a “Rising Star” by the Association of Psychological Science. My research has also been covered in the popular press, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Scientific American, NPR, and the BBC.
