About My Clients

My clients have been through trauma that has left them feeling lost, stuck, anxious, or despairing. I provide a safe, empathic environment, using evidence-based modalities for change, and support my clients in processing and healing from these traumas. My clients constantly amaze me with their resiliency- however, having to be "strong" and in survival mode all the time gets exhausting, and it's ok to let your guard down with me. I aim to support my clients in not only surviving, but thriving.

My Background and Approach

I am a licensed therapist in New York and Massachusetts, with a Master of Social Work from Boston College. I consider myself an eclectic therapist, because I am trained in a variety of modalities and tailor my approach to each individual client's needs and preferences. Besides being an outpatient therapist, my background includes working on an interdisciplinary team in a medical setting- this has given me the tools to support clients from a holistic lens, taking into account both physical and mental health. I find that my clients respond most effectively to interventions that focus on the mind, body, and spirit, such as EMDR and mindfulness-based approaches. In sessions, I tend to be down-to-earth and prefer to connect with my clients on a human level. While I am the expert on therapeutic modalities, you are the expert on your own experience- so I see us as equals who are on the same team.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am very passionate about social justice and equality. Most of my work prior to entering private practice was working with individuals that have been marginalized based on race, class, gender identity, and/or sexual orientation. As a member of the LGBTQ community myself, I enjoy empowering and advocating on behalf of my clients who have experienced marginalization and exclusion because of their identities. I am a fierce advocate for my clients and always seek to provide support, whether or not I can personally identify with the type of marginalization that they have been through.
