About My Clients
Maybe you're a teen, and the demands of school, social media, relationships, and family are overwhelming. You've been feeling sad more often and things seem less fun. Or maybe you're an adult, but challenging life events have turned your world upside down. You've experienced a scary or traumatic event that has you feeling constantly fearful, on edge, or withdrawn and is even affecting your physical health, sleep, and appetite. Together, we can address your concerns and improve your well-being.
My Background and Approach
Prior to my work in private practice, my professional experience in health care settings taught me just how closely connected our mental, emotional, and physical health are. I use this knowledge to inform my work with clients. As a therapist, I often draw from various therapy approaches, including EMDR (to treat trauma), EFT (viewing your concerns through an attachment lens), and ACT (helping your live your values despite life's challenges) and multiple others. I also have specialized training in peripartum and postpartum mood concerns. My approach is to work as a team with you, my client, to identify the strengths you already possess, discuss your goals, and determine which strategies might be most helpful to help you reach those goals. If you have any questions, it is always your right to ask me or voice any concerns. You are the expert on yourself; I am here to support you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Some of my beliefs as a therapist: - You are incredibly resilient, meaning you are capable of facing and riding out tough things. - You already possess strengths-- positive skills and characteristics-- that we can build on during the therapy process. - As humans, we all need connection with other beings. Working through relational pain and increasing positive connections with others can both be difficult and incredibly important. - Our mental, physical, emotional health are all connected, as is spiritual health, depending on your own values and beliefs. It is important to leave room to talk about all of these aspects in our work. - You have the right to question and challenge systems and beliefs. - You bring your unique identity into our work together. My job is to provide a safe and respectful space that honors who you are.
