About My Clients

Are you looking for a warm, supportive atmosphere to build better self-awareness and learn skills to help cope with life's stressors and struggles? Have you found it particularly difficult to maintain balance in your life and relationships? I look forward to working with you on building balance, managing symptoms, and gaining insight that helps create positive changes in your life!

My Background and Approach

I utilize an eclectic approach with my clients, drawing from a myriad of evidence-based practices and tailoring my approach to fit your needs. I most often grab from a blend of relational and human-centered techniques, sprinkled with CBT and mindfulness, always utilizing your strengths to help make practical changes in your life. Coming from a community mental health setting, I have experience working with clients from all walks of life. I find myself particularly drawn to helping clients navigate and improve anxiety, depression, relationship issues, difficulties with intimacy and sex, communication challenges, work-life balance, life transitions, body acceptance, family planning and building, and infertility. In our work together, you can expect warmth and compassion, with plenty of (attempted) humor to truly humanize the therapeutic process-- you can't live and love without the LAUGH!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe strongly in the human capacity for change, and while I fully understand the difficulty of that, I think living the life you want is worth the effort. I use humor and try to bring levity to the process of uncovering feelings and self-discovery, in a way that feels comfortable and approachable to you. I don't practice from a blank-slate model, meaning I want you to view me as a human being, too, not just an untouched chalkboard. I identify as fat and queer, and those identities follow me into any room (physical or virtual) that I may enter, and I recognize the impact they have on my lens through which I view the world. What sort of intersecting identities do you hold? I'd love to meet you at the cross-section!
