About My Clients
The individuals and families I serve tend to have a history of trauma (sometimes this reveals itself during the therapeutic process). They are typically navigating stressors in their lives: difficult family dynamics, relationship conflicts, grief and loss, transitions, heightened anxiety or a combination of these challenges.
My Background and Approach
My goal, first and foremost, is to know you as you would like to be known. I will guide you to get in touch with deep emotions and thoughts in a way that feels safe. We will collaborate to create solutions around problems within your control, and generate some radical acceptance around things outside your control. We will work both with your past and the "here and now" to integrate them and build forward momentum. When you are in my office you can expect me to draw on your strengths, communicate gently yet directly, and offer levity where it is appropriate. I will normalize, validate and challenge you because you deserve that every step of your healing journey. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) and a Licensed School Counselor (K-12) with 7 years of professional experience and several more of being a messy human. :)
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Just a few of my beliefs: Every individual is the expert on their own lived experience (and that lived experience inevitably includes trauma); Our behaviors make sense once we view them in context, and we all have the capacity to shift undesired behaviors with the right support; Mental health exists on a spectrum; Our deepest healing happens in community.
