About My Clients
My practice, while open to all who believe I could help support them in their personal growth, is focused primarily on BIPOC and multiracial individuals, couples and families.
My Background and Approach
I have spent my career working with adult individuals, couples and children ages 3-17 on issues such as anxiety, depression, anger management, social skills, grief and loss, trauma, racial identity, parenting, etc. In doing this work over the past 10+ years, I have noticed the gap of specialty in working with those whose backgrounds and identities originate from multiple cultures, countries, etc. As a multiracial woman myself, raising a multiracial family, I understand the nuance our stories bring that is often not captured by traditional cultural competency. The balance between the multiple important parts of ourselves takes on new meanings in the context of our relationships- especially with our partners and families-both the ones we came from and the ones we are now building. I work systemically and through a solution-focused, narrative lens. My style, in therapy and in life, is collaborative, personable and non-judgmental.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I was raised all over the world in a multiracial military family, which most definitely sparked my passion for understanding people and their stories. I want therapy to be a safe space that welcomes and affirms those in our most marginalized communities.
