I specialize in trauma-informed, person-centered care & work with individuals navigating life transitions, emotional distress, relationship challenges, & identity development. My Background and Approach
My career began in Southern Appalachia where I worked extensively with underserved and at-risk populations while completing my graduate training at Lindsey Wilson College earning my Master’s degree in Counseling & Human Development. I also hold an Associate’s degree in Human Services Technology with a specialized focus in Chemical Dependency & a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Ohio University. In addition to my state licensure, I'm a National Certified Counselor, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional & an active member of the American Counseling Association, the Texas Counseling Association & several subdivisions that reflect my commitment to continued growth and to providing affirming, culturally responsive care. I offer individualized care rooted in trauma-informed, client-centered approaches and I integrate evidence-based practices to help clients build trust, set meaningful goals, and address their unique needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
With 20+ years in behavioral health supporting clients in community mental health, crisis services, juvenile justice, schools & community advocacy, my background informs a therapy style grounded in empathy and trust. This breadth of experience has allowed me to develop a holistic and collaborative approach that’s adaptable to a wide range of needs. Regardless of your past experiences, current circumstances or specific reasons for seeking services, I strive to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. I offer honest, compassionate feedback and collaborate with clients to reframe their thoughts, strengthen self-worth, build resilience, and navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and confidence. Outside the therapy room, I find joy in the simple things: spending time with my family & pets, exploring San Antonio’s hidden culinary gems, hiking Texas state and national parks, and traveling the world with my partner whenever we can!
