About My Clients
Do you ever feel misunderstood or afraid of what others may think of you? I gravitate towards working with adults and adolescents in the LGBTQIA+ and Health At Every Size (HAES) communities, as well as working with adults in the kink and poly communities. I want you to know that I see you and accept you for who you are.
My Background and Approach
In my opinion, we are all capable of self-improvement and acceptance in order to live in a more satisfying way. We will work together to develop strategies and focus on your strengths, and I can guide you in becoming more comfortable with your authentic self. Practicing mindfulness can be helpful in mitigating both symptoms of depression and anxiety. A sense of humor is essential to handle the tough stuff, and I bring this value into sessions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe all of us have the capacity to learn, grow, and change. I first experienced therapy at the age of 13, and I have benefitted greatly from my experiences with individual and group counseling over the years. I honestly think every single person can get something out of attending counseling. I am a member and advocate of the LGBTQIA+ community. One of my greatest joys is being a Big Sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. We have been matched for 5 years, and we always find fun things to do. I am an avid supporter of animal adoption and have an adopted bouncy Boxer named Gemma and an often hiding cat named Eclipse.
