About My Clients
My goal is to work with clients who are struggling with various mental health concerns, such as chronic depression, suicidal thoughts and/or behaviors, eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, drug and alcohol use, and other life-threatening behaviors. I utilize evidence-based treatment with a focus on careful assessment and use of outcomes measures.
My Background and Approach
I am currently working towards advanced level competency in Dynamic Deconstructive Psychotherapy (DDP) for individuals (18 and older). DDP is a 12-month treatment for borderline personality disorder, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, alcohol or drug dependence, self-harm, and eating disorders. DDP aims to repair the emotional processing system through individual weekly sessions focusing on building narratives of recent emotion-filled experiences. During sessions, you will be given the freedom to choose the agenda as you begin to connect with your emotion-filled experiences in a "judgment free zone". I believe in the power of psychotherapy in helping people achieve transformative change. DDP is not about resolving crises, getting rid of symptoms, giving you advice, or telling you what to do. Rather, it is about helping individuals connect to their feelings and experiences, connecting to themselves and others, and developing an integrated sense of self.
