About My Clients
Many clients come to me because they are tired of repeating the same painful patterns. You might be struggling with anxiety, depression, challenging family/relationship dynamics, or difficult life transitions. These struggles are often interconnected, and suggest your current coping strategies are no longer serving you. I offer a flexible, integrated approach with personalized strategies and support as you gain clarity, build effective new skills, and create the life you truly want to live.
My Background and Approach
I have served clients dealing with complex mental health issues, addictions, and unhealthy relationship dynamics, working in diverse settings—from in-patient and out-patient care to community-based programs, and now in private practice. I am committed to making effective therapy accessible to everyone, a philosophy that is a cornerstone of my work. To help you create change, I integrate evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). CBT provides you with strategies for identifying and reframing unhelpful thoughts. Meanwhile, ACT helps you move past the emotional 'tug of war' by noticing and accepting difficult feelings and integrating mindfulness techniques, ultimately allowing you to redirect your energy toward actions that support your personal goals and values.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My commitment to social justice guides my work. I've spent my career focused on supporting individuals who often face barriers to getting the mental healthcare they need and desire. I believe every person is deserving of dignity and respect, and I approach our work collaboratively. While I offer specialized skills, I firmly believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is to offer perspective and help you develop skills aligned with your goals. I don't prescribe to a 'blank slate' approach; I show up as a human being. I hope we often find ways to laugh and celebrate together, even as we work through difficult challenges.
