About My Clients

My Background and Approach
The space we create together is open and deeply respectful of your unique experiences and the ways you express them. My approach is psychodynamic. psychoanalytic, and depth-oriented, which simply means we look beneath the surface to understand the forces shaping your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I view psychotherapy as a collaborative conversation where something genuine and unexpected can emerge. It is a conversation worth having. Before I became a psychotherapist I worked as a writer, journalist, musician, and builder of guitars. I hold a B.A. in Philosophy and Cultural Studies from the University of Minnesota, and am a PhD candidate in philosophy. When I’m not in the office, I enjoy writing, music, art, kayaking, fly fishing, and much more. If you’d like to know more about working together, please feel free to reach out. I’d be glad to speak with you about whether therapy with me might be a good fit.
