About My Clients
I have specialized training and expertise in working with: gender, sex, sexuality, relationships, poly/non-monogamy, kink, BDSM, fetishes, sexual functioning, sexual anxiety, compulsive sexual behaviors, relationship conflict, infidelity, desire differences in relationships, parents with LGBTQ identified or questioning children, conflicts of faith and/or spirituality with gender and sexuality, depression, anxiety, addiction, and HIV/AIDS.
My Background and Approach
For the last 15 years I've worked with queer, trans, kinky and non-monogamous people in a variety of capacities, including: psychotherapy; group facilitation; advocacy; community organizing; and consulting and supervision. I am trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy and sex therapy, and work through an understanding of attachment, trauma, internal family systems, narrative therapy, social justice and empowerment. In our work together you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself, identify your personal strengths, learn to listen and trust your intuition, connect to all parts of yourself, unpack and unlearn belief systems, deepen your understanding of where those belief systems come from and what purpose they serve, increase self compassion, heal any disrupted connections with your self and in your relationships, and learn tools to self-actualize and sustain your goals. The aim of my practice is to increase self love, acceptance and compassion towards your authentic self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Taking the steps to reach out and start therapy takes courage, which has the potential to transform your life. I believe therapy is a profoundly unique space where you have the opportunity to connect, feel deeply listened to and understood, and have another human show up for you emotionally and empathically. All of you is welcome here.
