About My Clients

Are you, or someone you love, trying to emotionally adjust to a new medical crisis and don’t know where to turn? Does it feel like life is overwhelming and your emotions are bigger than your body? Or maybe you feel like you are out of control and want to learn how to regain control over yourself and your body? These experiences can feel completely debilitating. I am here to partner with you as we learn skills to reduce your emotional burden, and address trauma and grief.

My Background and Approach

I have 8 years of experience working in a medical setting providing counseling to those encountering new diagnoses, treatments, and life transitions. In this setting, I adopted an evidence-based therapy, which values understanding oneself as a whole amidst any crisis called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I often use this in conjunction with other therapies to lessen anxiety, internal conflict, symptoms of depression and help you navigate high stakes situations. The therapeutic techniques that I developed in the medical field apply broadly to many concerns. I tailor the techniques I use to meet your needs and goals in therapy. I am available to meet with individuals, couples, or families. Please let me know how I can help you and reach out to me today!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone has innate resilience that can be further tapped into in the therapeutic relationship. Our capacity to hold and be guided by complex emotions is extraordinary. Emotions, thoughts, and feelings are not issues unto themselves, but if they keep you from feeling like you are able to live a rich and fulfilling life they then become problems. I was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulive Disorder (checking subtype) as a teenager. Through therapy I found a way to better control my symptoms and not feel that any aspect of my life is dictated by obsessions or compulsions. I am passionate about sharing some of what I learned, as well as, much more to help you find the relief that you are looking for. Originally hailing from Massachusetts, I am a diehard Celtics fan, and sometimes I slip up and still say “wicked” when describing something. I am on a life long journey in my own anti-racist work, and happy to connect with others who prioritize this same work, as well.
