About My Clients
My clients have a history of chronic pain other chronic stress related physical conditions lasting months or years. Doctors have been unable to find concrete answers and medical treatments offer no lasting relief. Symptoms leave them in a constant state of hypervigilance or avoid activities due to fear of triggering your symptoms. They also often have a history of early childhood adversity, trauma, chronic long-term stress, or perfectionism.
My Background and Approach
I am a neuropsychologist specializing in the treatment of chronic pain, anxiety, and stress-related physical symptoms. My psychological approach integrates the latest evidence-based therapies proven to provide relief from painful conditions once thought to be untreatable. I am certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy. I also integrate Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral techniques proven effective for mind-body conditions. I have over 25 years of experience in mental health field. I received an M.Ed. in mental health counseling from UMass Boston in 1999 and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology in 2005. I am a licensed psychologist in Massachusetts and have specialized training in neuropsychology and mind-body medicine.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My belief in the inherent worth and dignity of all people is a guiding factor in my life and work. I have long been an advocate for social justice and equality. I do all can in daily life to live by these principles. I am also aware I have biases based on privilege and want to continue to learn and grow.
