Depression is a debilitating shadow that, if allowed to grow, will block you from your true self, healthy desires, and creative expression. We must uncover what is getting in your way. We will do this with love and patience, as it takes time to identify and heal wounds, break through blockages, mend relationships, and make different choices. But please know, it is absolutely possible for you to re-align with a timeline that is healthy and happy for you.

Emotions have important messages to tell us about our wants and needs. Our work together will include heightened awareness of how you experience emotions (including your felt experience of emotions), practice in how to hold emotions without judgment, and allowance for emotions to surface and guide.

Only the present moment exists in the now, but we are often pulled to the past or the future because of unresolved wounds or anxieties. In our work together, we will explore what is diverting you from full presence. I will continually guide you back to your emotional and energetic experience in the here-and-now. For example, if you are discussing a conflict with a friend, I may ask you to name how you feel when you are talking about it, so that we can better understand its current impact.

If there is one aim of Gestalt Therapy, it is in heightened awareness. Once the unconscious moves to the conscious, you are able to work with the information and perhaps choose differently. Gestalt Therapy is client-centered, humanistic, present-oriented, relational. It allows for freedom and play and experimentation in the therapy session. It is a joy to practice and relate to one another with this model, as it encourages transformative connection.

How you feel about yourself impacts everything in your world--your relationships, your work, your daily choices. Building self-love and self-acceptance is a cornerstone of my work with clients. As you better understand your relationship to self and treat yourself more kindly, you will begin to see positive change. It all starts with you.
