About My Clients
You may look like you’re holding everything together while feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected inside. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+ adults navigating trauma, anxiety, relationships, identity, self-esteem, and life transitions. Together, we’ll explore the patterns beneath what you’re experiencing, understand where they came from, and work toward feeling more secure, connected, and authentic in your life.
My Approach to Helping
My approach is trauma-informed, relational, attachment-focused, and LGBTQ+ affirmative. I believe meaningful therapy goes beyond simply managing symptoms. While coping skills can be valuable, I am also interested in helping you understand the experiences, relationships, beliefs, and protective patterns underlying what you are experiencing today. Our work may involve exploring attachment and relationship patterns, processing unresolved experiences, strengthening emotional awareness, challenging beliefs that no longer serve you, and developing a greater capacity to stay present with difficult emotions. I integrate talk therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, cognitive approaches, and emotional processing depending on your individual needs. Therapy is collaborative rather than one-size-fits-all, and we will continually shape our work around what feels most meaningful and useful to you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy works best when you can bring your whole self into the room without feeling the need to edit, explain, or make yourself easier to understand. As a queer therapist, creating an affirming space for LGBTQ+ clients is deeply important to my work. Together, we can explore how relationships, family, culture, identity, and life experiences have shaped the way you understand yourself. I believe our coping patterns often developed for a reason. Anxiety, avoidance, people-pleasing, perfectionism, emotional shutdown, or difficulty trusting others may have once helped you feel safe. Therapy allows us to understand these patterns with curiosity rather than judgment and explore whether they still serve you. My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply, feel secure in who you are, and create relationships and a life that feel authentic to you.
