About My Clients
I specialize in working with people are dealing with the intrusive thoughts and safety-seeking rituals of OCD as well as people are struggling with anxiety (i.e. perfectionism, phobias, panic attacks, people pleasing, etc.) My clients are often people who look very high functioning but are struggling internally. They are just people who just want to feel better in their relationships, their school/work, and really just in their own heads.
My Background and Approach
I have worked in mental health in schools and communities for over 10 years. I have a MSW and M.Ed in School Counseling. I am certified in reality therapy but also utilize other forms of therapy that really look at our emotions, our attachments and relationships, and increasing our ability to cope with day to day life. I also utilize exposure and response prevention to decrease distress around intrusive thoughts. For those who prefer a less traditional talk therapy approach, I am able to integrate elements of art and nature-based therapies. Starting therapy when experiencing anxiety can be really, really hard because it’s new are you very likely need to feel prepared. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all people deserve to have their needs met and to be able to live a joyful existence. I also believe that people are doing the best they can with what they have and as a therapist, it's my job to be your teammate in helping you get where you want to be.
