My Background and Approach
I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a master’s degree from Westminster University and over 7 years of experience in the mental health field. My background includes work in suicide prevention, wilderness therapy, and community mental health. I have specialized experience in relational trauma. My approach is relational and psychodynamic, grounded in the belief that healing happens through insight, connection, and the safety of a consistent, attuned relationship. I’ve studied psychodynamic theory in depth and bring a nuanced understanding of how early experiences shape our sense of self, our relationships, and our internal worlds. My orientation is also informed by studies in Eastern healing traditions and Indigenous wisdom. My work is shaped by personal study and practice in yoga, Buddhism, and ongoing healing work with Shipibo-Konibo teachers in Peru. While these influences are not clinical interventions, they shape my culturally expansive, holistic framework.
