About My Clients
If anxiety has taken over your life, childhood experiences still shape how you feel, or chronic stress has left you exhausted and disconnected - you have landed in the right spot. Challenging emotions are part of being human, but there is a path forward towards increased joy and meaning. My clients in South Seattle are people who love to be outside, and who do their best thinking while walking. They prefer therapy that feels more relational and less clinical.
My Background and Approach
I became interested in the science of suffering when I was an undergrad college student. There was something about Buddhist psychology and Eastern philosophy that felt profoundly interesting and novel to me. After years of personal development and spiritual discovery, I credit mindfulness and related practices for showing me the way from suffering to meaning. As a therapist, I draw from evidence-based modalities, spiritual underpinnings, and my own experience as a fellow sufferer to guide clients towards healing and fulfillment. I am a feminist, multicultural counselor, and systems-thinker. I enjoy deep conversations, existentialism, and developing authentic connection with clients. If you want to make lifestyle/habit changes, we will work well together. I believe in the healing power of live music/concerts, nature, and creative pursuits.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am proudly queer and love supporting others in the LGBTQIA community. I am affirming of all identities that have been historically marginalized. I am anti-racist and a feminist. I do not identify as neurodivergent but I am affirming of neurodivergence and work with neurodivergent clients.
