About My Clients

My Background and Approach
A tradesman or carpenter is only as good as his tools. Let's empower you to use tools to better your mental health. The best tool that I offer is the "therapeutic alliance" an emotionally safe connection crucial to lasting change. Over the years, I’ve provided counseling and psychological services to patients throughout northern Utah. My expertise covers a broad spectrum of mental health services, and I’m happy to share my experience and qualifications. https://www.linkedin.com/in/jericho-avery-lcsw-56b242b2
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal beliefs are that people who have been hurt either directly or indirectly hurt others. Mental health issues develop due to factors viewed though a bio-psycho-social, ecological, or systemic lens. Therapy isn't as much learning skills to overcome mental health issues as it is unlearning maladaptive traits that create behaviors that do not serve us. Growth. Meaning. Freedom. Choice. These virtues are at the core of my approach. If one can find the "why" to change, the "how" comes much easier. Let me assist you in finding your "why." The stories we believe to be true are capable of being rewritten. The important factor is identifying through empowerment of how you are the author.
