About My Clients
My clients are high-functioning adults in their 20s and 30s- the ones who show up, get things done, and still feel like they're barely holding it together underneath. Many are managing anxiety or depression that doesn't look like crisis from the outside. Others are men navigating pressure to have it all figured out. Successful by most standards, still quietly exhausted, and that exhausting isn't a personal failing.
My Background and Approach
I've been practicing for 14 years in both community mental health and private practice. What ive learned is most people don't need to be fixed, they need space to share what is going on without the pressure to perform that they are fine My approach is direct rather than clinical distance. I'll ask ask real relevant questions to your life, and push back when it's useful. I work primarily with anxiety, depression, attention deficit challenges, and specific pressure that men often carry with them feeling they aren't allowed to struggle out loud. Whatever brought you here, we'll work out together what;s actually underneath it, and build from there at your pace. I believe sessions should have a sense of direction while also recognizing healing isn't always a straight line.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value authenticity over performance. I recognize we don't live in a just world and am not going to pretend that everything is fine. I don't believe struggling necessarily means something is wrong with you, a lot of times people are trying to deal with expectations that would be difficult for anyone to manage. I think men are often taught that needing support is a failure rather than a normal part of being human, and I make space for the full range of thoughts and feelings around that to come out without any judgement. I don't believe healing moves in a straight line and I won't promise it does. It's often a slow uneven process with positive movement mixed in with setbacks. I think pretending otherwise can lead people to feel they are failing at therapy when things get messy which is just a normal part of life.
