About My Clients
It is a common experience to feel adrift & disconnected in our society. Many people report feeling stuck, & are searching for a sense of direction and purpose in their lives. Therapy can support you in making meaning of challenging situations, exploring identity, & clarifying a path forward. I believe in creating a safe and supportive space for all people to be themselves & to grow. My therapy practice is neurodiversity affirming, gender-affirming, & is sex-positive and body-positive.
My Background and Approach
My role as a therapist is to assist you in clarifying your values and goals, and to find solutions that fit your life. I take an evidence-based, trauma-competent approach to therapy. Healing is a collaborative, connected experience, and your comfort and safety are vital in this process. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into my work as well. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, which allows me to practice as a therapist in the state of Indiana. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a social worker, I am ethically bound to advocate for oppressed and minoritized communities, and I take this charge seriously. I believe that both in and out of therapy, we are social creatures who need one another--we need community and connection to become our most whole selves. I volunteer to work with people experiencing houselessness through Indy Hope Packages, which also means I engage in community antiracist work and organizing. I was raised as an evangelical, conservative Christian, and I recognize the harm this has done to me and to others. None of us are defined by our life circumstances, and I have built meaningful relationships with people with beliefs and perspectives that differ from mine.
