My Background and Approach
I have a down-to-earth, accepting style that utilizes humor and direct feedback. My training in social work has taught me a guarded skepticism of psychiatric and psychological models, and social justice topics are integral to my practice. I was trained to view people as amalgams of their environment and relationships as much as they are their neurological ‘hardwiring’. This translates into understanding and assisting my clients without leaning on psychiatrically-informed diagnoses, or purely cognitive (CBT) solutions. I belief in solution focused, brief treatment
