About My Clients
I work with adult individuals who have experienced trauma and profound loss. I have extensive certification, education, and training in grief and trauma, and my own lived experience of profound loss, and leaning into my authentic experiences and healing work, informs my practice.
My Background and Approach
In 2012 my 19-year-old son died and I have been learning how to carry my grief ever since. I leaned into my grief and my healing, and appreciate opportunities to share the practices and resources that have helped me integrate and live forward. I have trained with and learned from pillars in grief communities, such as Dr. Joanne Cacciatore, student and friend of Elisabeth-kubler-Ross, and preeminent researcher, professor, author, and advocate in traumatic loss. I incorporate evidence-based contemporary models of grieving such as the Dual Process Model, Four Tasks of Mourning, Continuing Bonds Theory, Selah Model of Grieving, and ATTEND Model of Traumatic Bereavement. I emphasize ritual, meaning-making, and self-compassion in grief. When appropriate I utilize the trauma reprocessing modality of EMDR.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I align with the belief that grief is a natural response to change and loss. I help clients build their grief muscle and navigate grieving authentically in a culture that doesn't tend to make space for grieving.
