About My Clients
My clients come to therapy ready to think deeply, to challenge their own assumptions, and to explore the unconscious patterns that shape their relational and emotional lives. Together, we uncover the subtle ways they may protect themselves from vulnerability, intimacy, and emotional risk—and how those protective strategies, once useful, now limit their capacity for deeper connection.
My Background and Approach
I practice psychodynamically with couples, focusing on how past histories shape present struggles with intimacy, betrayal, and communication. Each partner carries echoes of earlier attachments—longings, fears, defenses—that appear in the ways they fight, withdraw, or try to connect. My work is to slow these patterns down so they can be seen with compassion rather than judgment. When betrayal has fractured trust, we honor the grief and anger while building pathways of accountability and repair. I help partners learn to listen beyond the words: to hear the fear beneath criticism, the longing beneath silence, the need beneath anger. By linking current conflicts to each person’s history, space opens for empathy and deeper understanding. True intimacy is not quick reconciliation, but the courage to stay present with each other, even in pain. I offer steadiness, honesty, and hope, guiding couples toward a relationship where both feel seen, respected, and able to love more freely.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My primary approach is psychodynamic and psychoanalytic, recognizing that therapy is a journey of self-connection and discovery. I am exceptionally passionate about relationships and believe profoundly in human connection. Being a therapist is not a job for me, it is at the core of how I live my life. My personal interests are those involving social justice issues, fighting for injustice and when I am not "roaring loudly" about these things, I will take anything outdoors - swimming, paddle-boarding, laying on the beach, climbing through caves, hiking the glorious trails, and soaking up sunsets.
