Therapy is hard work and I am here to walk you through it. My role in sessions is to meet you where you are mentally and emotionally and assist you in moving a little further towards your goals. I often work with people who are seeing a therapist for the first time in their lives. You can expect to be feel heard, validated, relieved, challenged, and understood. I help you understand how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors are connected and how to incorporate relaxation/mindfulness techniques into your daily life.
I am experienced in working with adults with childhood trauma, survivors of sexual abuse, and parents of trauma victims. When doing this type of work, I often use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and I happy to explain what that process is like.
