About My Clients
You've spent a long time trying to push through it, yet the same thoughts, emotions, or relationship patterns keep resurfacing. I work with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Together, we'll uncover the "why" behind your experiences so you can better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change.
My Background and Approach
I believe people make sense in the context of their experiences. My curiosity about human behavior led me to study psychology, begin my own therapy, and conduct graduate research on intergenerational trauma within Southeast Asian American communities. That journey continues to shape how I approach therapy today. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Attachment Theory, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing to tailor therapy to each person's unique needs. While practical coping skills are important, I also enjoy helping clients connect the dots between their past and present so they can better understand the patterns that have shaped them. My goal is to create a collaborative space where clients feel genuinely seen, understood, and empowered to make meaningful, lasting changes.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing begins with curiosity. So often, we judge ourselves for the ways we think, feel, or respond without realizing those patterns once served a purpose. When we approach ourselves with greater understanding and compassion, we create space for growth rather than shame. As a Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Chinese American therapist, I value the importance of family, community, and cultural identity while recognizing that those same systems can sometimes create challenges around emotional expression, boundaries, and mental health. My graduate research focused on intergenerational trauma within Southeast Asian American communities, and I'm passionate about making conversations around mental health more accessible and culturally responsive. Outside of therapy, I'm endlessly curious about people. I enjoy meaningful conversations, terrible dad jokes, and spending time with the people I love. I believe genuine connection is one of the most powerful parts of both life and therapy.
