My Background and Approach
The experience of true compassion for another is a transformational experience that heals the deepest of our human wounds. It is an experience that I strive for in the practice of psychotherapy. Psychotherapy is an invitation to explore defense mechanisms in the quest for authenticity, resurfacing to breathe fully. Life's transitions, sorrow and anguish offer opportunity to examine our coping strategies. Some, heavy and burdensome, are relinquished, outworn body armor from a battle long ago. Others are redeveloped like muscle memory, a reclaiming of strength, skill and insight acquired within the trusting, therapeutic relationship.
