Relational and Betrayal trauma may when you uncover an unknown addiction or infidelity, your marriage. it can be the most debilitating moment in your life. These forms of betrayals are extremely traumatic, and mirror those of other traumatic events including shock, repression, denial, intense mood fluctuation, depression, anxiety, and lowered self-worth.

Couples counseling helps couples recognize specific needs and areas of conflict in an effort to resolve those issues and heal the relationship. Couples counseling may be beneficial regardless of if you are married, engaged, dating, living together or apart.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR, is a researched based psychotherapy method of therapy for dealing with unresolved trauma and distressing life events that often produces more rapid results than traditional talk therapy. EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue or completing homework between sessions. EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain.
