Trauma, loss, and pain are no match for the human spirit of resiliency and faith. There is no sliding scale for trauma - a loss is a loss. And while we wrestle with finding meaning even in the dark and broken places, I can only encourage you to tell the story that scares you in a place you feel safe. When that happens, the shame and pain begin to weaken and the hope of someday climbing into the sunshine begins.
My Background and Approach
Empathic, trauma-informed care that focuses on finding meaning and new stories where the pain once stood nameless. While my past experience has given me quite the broad spectrum of experiences, my primary focuses are on women's issues (infertility, pre and post-partum depression and anxiety, etc) and trauma survivors. I want to extend a special invitation to military (both active and veteran status) and our first responders - and their families. As a military family and a former therapist in a correctional facility, I have heard a thousand stories that most thought were "too much" to tell a civilian. Your stories don't scare me.
