About My Clients
Our clients come from all cultural, gender, and age backgrounds. Whether they are coming to therapy to better understand ongoing challenges that have impacted how they view themselves or their world, or desiring to learn practical coping tools and solution-focused approaches for overcoming barriers, our clients are motivated for growth. They may be new and uncertain what therapy is, but know they are feeling stuck and desiring how to better understand themselves and be active agents of change.
My Background and Approach
I have over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, including extensive training in research-supported evidence-based therapy at Harvard medical school hospitals. All the therapists at my group practice, Everwell Health and Counseling Services, actively practice in our mission to provide diversity-affirming, culturally sensitive therapy that is rooted in utilizing research-supported, evidence-based therapies, helping clients to learn more coping tools. We work actively and collaboratively with our clients to explore how your unique cultural, ethnic, gender, sexual, and religious identities are interwoven in influencing who you are and shaping your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We also work from a strength-based perspective, helping to empower our clients to recognize their own resiliency, and helping them pursue a more meaningful life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value diversity, multiculturalism, and social justice. I believe in the importance of the ongoing pursuit of both culturally competency and cultural humility. I believe that how we think, feel, and behavior are often shaped from experiences we have had, both personally as well as from systemic and institutional influences. However, I believe in the growth mindset, that we all have the capacity for change, to unlearn unhealthy behaviors or beliefs about ourselves, and that we can be empowered to strive towards a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
