About My Clients
We all have a different catalyst for therapy. As a therapist specializing in grief, anxiety, and trauma, and trained in EMDR, my clients often find me looking for a safe, supportive space to talk about, process, and move through some of the most tender moments of their lives. Many of my clients have previously identified as people-pleasers and struggled to recognize and express their own wants, needs, and emotions.
My Background and Approach
I'm a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Missouri with over six years of experience with individuals and couples. Throughout my professional experience, I've taught classes and lead groups on self-compassion, DBT, and mindfulness. During my group experience, I learned how powerful art is as an outlet for therapeutic expression, and began implementing this modality into my practice. I began utilizing EMDR in 2021 after seeing how helpful this evidenced-based treatment was in relieving symptoms of PTSD. I infuse much of my work with clients with mindfulness-based practices and relational theories, because I believe tuning in and tending to our personal experiences are important components for mental health and full engagement with our lives. Being a therapist is my passion, and, when I'm not sitting with clients, I'm usually found outside in nature, tending to one of my gardens, snuggling my cats, or engaging in one of my own creative hobbies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone deserves a safe space in their lives to explore what they've been holding on to. As a therapist and a human, I'm committed to providing a compassionate, non-judgmental, and supportive environment for diverse populations. I believe therapy is a time for growth, insight, navigation of life's most difficult offerings, and celebration of some of life's most beautiful moments, too.
