About My Clients
I know that life can be complicated, and sometimes we need new approaches to help us understand our feelings. Therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to address a variety of life's concerns from stress management to specific trauma. I look forward to working with you, teaching you skills to help you live the life you desire.
My Background and Approach
Everyone has strengths, and I work with you to leverage those strengths to help you reach your goals. I will help you identify your needs, and teach you tools and skills that will help you overcome your challenges. I am trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Interpersonal Process Therapy, perinatal and postpartum mood disorders, Narrative Exposure Therapy and Trauma Focused CBT. Attending training, and learning new techniques and approaches is an important part of my professional development and something I prioritize each quarter.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone is doing the best they can with the knowledge that they have. We all struggle from time to time, when I struggle I know that it's time to learn and implement some new healthy behaviors. The social work code of ethics guides my work, and I adhere to those values in my personal and professional life. I care deeply for people and animals, and frequently foster small animals for the Capital Humane Society. Feel free to ask me about my experience with a hairless rat name Walnut. I frequently participate in political action and the legislative process through advocacy work.
