My Background and Approach
I have over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field: first in community mental health and the past three+ years in a private practice setting. Prior to completing my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, I worked in finance, insurance, and higher education for 10 years after completing my Bachelors Degree in Communication. These were valuable career experiences that helped to shape me and revealed what I was passionate about, and what I was not. Ultimately, I knew it was time for me to pursue my passion for helping others in a greater capacity. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-centered, and a Humanistic Approach. I am also trained in Gottman Level 1 for couples therapy.
