My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I ground my work in social justice frameworks and post-constructionist thought. I am firmly committed to understanding my clients' unique experiences and creating space in the room to deconstruct societal and cultural discourses that play into such experiences of the world. I look to my client to lead and choose the language we use in sessions, tailoring everything to the person I am lucky to be in conversation with. I see myself as walking alongside my client in a small part of the windy road of their life. I ask them about the road behind us, maybe I'll point out a passing tree or two that I find interesting, and I support them as they decide what turns to take next.
