About My Clients
I help first-time therapy-seeking professional Asian Americans stop making lists of why they should be happy and go after the things that make them happy. You’re here because you don’t want to repeat your family’s trauma history. Maybe you have done some inner healing work on yourself, but still, feel like you need more guidance. Maybe you lived your whole life with the mindset of “It is what it is” and yet you can’t shake the tension in your chest and notice the conflict within yourself.
My Background and Approach
I integrate both DBT and EMDR in my practice to get you the best treatment. We will spend time assessing and building up your coping skills and then processing the trauma that has been holding you back. EMDR has been proven to be effective with mental health symptoms such as nightmares, phobias, anxiety/panic attacks, depressed mood, and complicated grief. DBT is effective with those who are struggling with self-harm, emotional dysregulation, and unhealthy behaviors that you have difficulty stopping. We'll work together to create a plan that is best for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that you are worthy of love and care. I believe that emotions heal when they were witnessed and validated. I love helping people become healthier, more empowered, and seeing them finally getting the life they desire. The most rewarding thing about being a therapist is seeing a person walk away lighter, freer, and more excited about their life. I believe that people underestimate their ability to change. I am committed to supporting you to change your life around. I have a genuine interest in others and bring supportive and encouraging energy to sessions.
