About My Clients
Sometimes life feels overwhelming, hope is difficult to find, and it's unclear what path to take. If anxiety, depression, trauma, suicidal ideation, or burnout have been taking a toll on you, please know that you are not alone and you can get through this! Through therapy, my clients notice progress by feeling emotionally lighter, allowing and accepting their feelings, and increased clarity and confidence to live by their values, honor their needs, and take tangible steps toward their goals.
My Background and Approach
A variety of experiences over the past 10 years has allowed me to shape and refine my approach in which I strive to be flexible, open-minded, curious, and willing to continue to keep learning and improving as a therapist in order to provide quality evidence-based and empathetic care. My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which involves exploring the situations, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors causing distress and using healthy strategies to regulate emotions and respond effectively. I also utilize exposure therapy, trauma-informed methods, strength based approach, and incorporate mindfulness-based strategies. I view the process of therapy as collaborative and a joint effort between therapist and client - together we will utilize the strengths and resilience you already have in order to work toward the goals that are most important to you!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Working in a helping profession was always an interest of mine, due to the value of volunteering instilled in my childhood and my own challenges with mental health. Through my own experiences in therapy, I learned ways to heal myself and feel relief from anxiety. Pain, doubt, and fear are a human experience - slowing down to be curious and understand the source - the root - of our struggles allows us to let them go. I strongly believe that our growth process (mine included!) is never ending. There is always an opportunity through the pain - to expand our view, to allow ourselves to be vulnerable, to shift our mindset, and find new parts of ourselves. It is uncomfortable to grow, and with some courage and guidance it is possible!
