About My Clients
Are you struggling with moving forward after a devastating loss? Is it hard to imagine putting one foot in front of the other, let alone find meaning in your life again? Grief is universal, and yet it can feel like you are experiencing this pain alone. You may find that "getting over it” no longer works. I am here to help you find healing from your loss and identify the strengths and resilience you may not even know you have. I want to support and guide you along this journey.
My Background and Approach
Every individual grieves differently, and I tailor my approach based on the unique experience each person brings into the room. Cognitive Behavioral and Person-Centered therapies are my most utilized approaches. I earned my Bachelor’s degree at UCLA and my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, specializing in Trauma. I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT#132408 ) with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. I received my training at Adventist Health Glendale Medical Center as part of an integrated medical team treating patients with a broad spectrum of mental illnesses, from mood disorders to psychosis, active suicidality to chemical dependency and other addictive behaviors. I aim to balance emotional support alongside practical tools that will help you function in your daily life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe strongly that forming a trusting relationship is the most important factor in positive change. My own losses led me to this transformational work that puts me on this journey with you. I offer a safe and compassionate space to share your story and begin the healing process. Grief is not something to get over but to get through. Grief can challenge you physically, cognitively, motionally and spiritually. Life fundamentally changes with a significant loss – your role, your purpose, your routine, your feeling of safety in the world. I believe that addressing how grief impacts all aspects of your life is critical. I will help you manage and tolerate overwhelming emotions, and help you access and develop coping skills to help you through this challenging time. I help individuals, couples, and families navigate through their grief, and lead a wide range of grief support groups. An area of focus in my practice is traumatic or sudden loss and grief.
