My Background and Approach

My clinical background focuses on working with adolescents and families navigating complex systems, including foster care, adoption, and juvenile justice. I have extensive experience supporting youth with trauma histories, behavioral challenges, and high-risk presentations, including problematic sexual behaviors. This work has strengthened my ability to engage clients who may feel resistant or misunderstood. I am trained in EMDR and DBT and am certified in PEERS social skills, allowing me to provide evidence-based, developmentally appropriate care tailored to each client. My approach is trauma-informed, structured, and relational, balancing empathy with accountability while building skills for emotional regulation, decision-making, and healthier relationships. I work closely with caregivers and strive to create a supportive, goal-oriented space where clients feel respected, challenged, and empowered to make lasting change.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone deserves access to compassionate, effective mental health care, regardless of their background or circumstances. Many of the individuals and families I work with have experienced trauma, instability, or involvement in complex systems, and I believe healing begins with feeling safe, understood, and respected. I value a balance of empathy and accountability in therapy. While it is important to honor each person’s experiences, I also believe in supporting clients to take ownership of their choices and build skills for lasting change. I view therapy as a collaborative process that empowers clients and caregivers to strengthen relationships, improve emotional regulation, and create more stable, healthy environments. My goal is to provide care that is trauma-informed, practical, and accessible.
