About My Clients

My clients are thoughtful, self-aware, and ready to grow — even when it feels hard. Many are LGBTQ+ with multiple minority identities looking for a space where all of who they are is welcome. Others are young adults navigating identity or family pressure, healthcare workers running on empty, immigrants holding two worlds at once, or people carrying trauma they've never had space to unpack. What unites them all: a genuine desire to heal and grow while being valued for being their authentic self.

My Background and Approach

Licensed psychologist in California for 10 years with a doctorate from Wright State University School of Professional Psychology. My approach is relational and humanistic — I'm curious about the patterns you learned early in life and how they shape your relationships today. I draw from interpersonal, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed frameworks, bringing warmth, directness, and my genuine self to every session. I also use an assessment tool early in our work to quickly build insight into your interpersonal style — so we can identify patterns and target areas for growth from the start. I'm a PFLAG Ally Award recipient, author of a globally used group therapy treatment manual, and current President of the Redwood Psychological Association. I've volunteered with hospice, the AIDS Resource Center, Safespace, and the SoCo Pride Parade.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

The greatest protective psychological factor in all our lives is having adequate social support. We can survive most anything, when we have trusted people in our lives supporting us. With this framework in mind, no matter what brings you to therapy, we will be looking at who is in your corner, and how to strengthen the relationships you already have or build new ones that will further sustain you in your growth. Becoming a psychologist is a calling for me. Helping others in their healing and growth is meaningful and I invest my heart into the work that I do. You will see me tear up with you, and you will see me angry at the systems and people that have caused you harm. You will feel cared for and respected in our work together, and if you don't, I invite that discussion to see what needs to change in our relationship so you can feel cared for in the way that you need.
