About My Clients
I work with clients that have tried many approaches to solving their difficulties and are ready to try a different, scientifically-backed approach. Clients who see me are interested in getting to know themselves better, and practicing new ways to approach difficult thoughts and emotions. They commit to investing in themselves in order to experience profound healing at a deep level. Clients with concerns about substances, trauma, or anxiety are my specialty.
My Background and Approach
I am licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. I have several years experience treating anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship issues, grief and loss, and general difficulty with emotions. I practice with a blend of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems, both of which are effective methods to become curious about ourselves, our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and to discover what our internal world may have to teach us. People who engage in this type of therapy often find that they become more confident, calm, compassionate, and peaceful as they become more connected to and move towards what is important to them about themselves, other people, and the world. My business hours are Monday and Tuesday 8-3; Thursday 9-4, and Friday 8-12.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I support inclusive practice for all individuals including BIPOC/LGBTQ+ communities. I believe people do not need to be "fixed" and that everyone has inherent worthiness. I believe that we are made up of aspects of ourselves that help us navigate life, but that there is a core self with innate wisdom that can guide us, once we can access it. I believe each person is the expert and author of their own life.
